After a few months of nothing interesting happening, I’m extremely excited to be part of my first real engineering project; as a delightful bonus, it’s aerospace related!
I’ve recently joined the High Speed Aircraft Club at my school. The club’s stated purpose is
to build, fly, and operate a high speed RC aircraft as a test bed for supersonic design, propulsion, and technologies
which, quite frankly, is awesome. I joined up after receiving an email from the EE department calling for electronics enthusiasts for the club. The first meeting was quite exciting – it seems that we already have several thousand dollars in funding available to us from the school’s ASI and from the AIAA student chapter. We have at least a dozen competent, enthusiastic aerospace engineering majors, and by all appearances highly competent leadership.
I’ll bring more updates on this as events warrant, but it should be clear that I’m pretty stoked about this.
